- Résumé :
- The Applied Health Research Group for Kids (TARGet Kids!) is a primary care practice-based research network which follows young children over many years through the primary healthcare system by collecting health information on behaviours like nutrition, physical activity, and learning. TARGet Kids! is the largest ongoing primary care research cohort of children in Canada and currently has 10 network sites across the Greater Toronto Area. Community Health Centres (CHCs) provide primary health care and other essential health programs and services to diverse and vulnerable communities. Bringing TARGet Kids! into CHCs provides an important opportunity to diversify our population and make our work more generalizable to the Canadian population. This planning grant will help us to make connections with CHC leadership, and explore their child health research priorities and interest in a potential research partnership with TARGet Kids!. Findings from our meetings with CHCs will be used to produce a summary report to be shared with meeting attendees and community stakeholders, and also publish an article. The report and publication will be used as background material for future grant applications. Further funding will allow for these collaborations to move forward so that our unique child health research will grow in representation across a broader landscape to better serve Canadian children, researchers, and the healthcare system.
