- Abstract/Summary:
- Early, meaningful collaboration between researchers and knowledge users can speed and amplify the impact of research on health care policy and practices. However, scientists commonly feel that they lack the training, time, and structural support to effectively collaborate with knowledge users over the entire research cycle, from project planning to completion, with integrated knowledge mobilization (KM). We propose a Canadian Inflammation Research KM Hub that will unite disciplines, sectors, people with lived experience, policymakers, industry, and other knowledge users to transform research into benefits for patients. The Hub will support each funded project in mapping its path to impact, developing action plans and coordinating, leveraging, and expanding resources and partnerships. The Hub will foster durable relationships and networks, and increase the capacity of teams to transform their research outcomes into solutions for patients with chronic conditions related to inflammation. By centrally consolidating expertise, networks, and collaborations, we will create KM infrastructure and capacity that will endure.
